In reality, the refueling operation is ultimately done by the customer, and it is the customer who determines how much fuel is delivered by the dispenser from the tank to the vehicle's tank. This control process is done by the fuel pump nozzle.
The customer can easily and accurately determine the amount of fuel delivered to his car tank by using the fuel pump nozzle. In fact, it can be said that the fuel pump nozzle is a controller for the fuel distribution system that is operated by the customer. In this article, the structure of the fuel nozzle and its types will be examined.

As mentioned above, the customer receives exactly the amount of fuel he wants from the fuel dispenser. But it seems the customer is not getting all the fuel that goes through the meter when the dispenser is on. This case is in contradiction with the accuracy of the fuel delivered to the customer.
In the following we will justify this contradiction, but first we will present the nozzle as a primary controller of the fuel distribution system. In short, the fuel pump nozzle works with three primary control functions:

The fuel nozzle (Nozzle) of the gas station can also have other control functions by using the equipment that is installed on it. For example, the fuel pump nozzle can be equipped with a mechanism that does not allow fuel to pass until the nozzle is inside the tank filler pipe. Or some nozzles are equipped with a pressure sensor that does not allow fuel to pass through the nozzle until the fuel system reaches the appropriate pressure.
The last two control functions presented above are completely automatic and do not require operator intervention. When the nozzle is closed, the fuel flows only in parts of the suction pump, and the outlet valve is the nozzle that directs the flow of fuel to the entire fuel transfer system. This valve should also adjust the amount of fuel flow out of the nozzle. Therefore, its opening interval should be continuous.
Also, the dispensers used in fuel stations should be equipped with an automatic cut-off device that prevents the tank from being overfilled. Using these valves reduces the possibility of the tank tipping over and spilling fuel on the ground, which is very dangerous.
